| Christopher Dresser was among the first designers of the industrial age. His numerous designs were decades ahead of their time and many are still in production today. Dresser pioneered the design of efficient household goods ranging from textiles and ceramics to furniture and metal ware. Many of his designs were manufactured by Hukin & Heath silversmiths Birmingham. Dresser's first designs for this company were registered in may 1878. This exquisite claret jug was made by Hukin & Heath and is widely accepted as a Christopher Dresser design. Hallmarked London 1882. |
